Ancient Kauri Wood Spindles
 Jonathan's fascination with beautiful and rare woods interested him in ancient Kauri wood, many thousands of years old. Kauri is light in weight — Finished Midis range from 20-25 grams; Minis, 14-19 grams; Featherweight, 12-15 grams. Kauri is a beautiful 'napped' wood, a deep warm cinnamon brown when looking 'down the grain;' a lighter amber color when looking 'up the grain.' The price of these is $70 for a Midi, $60 for a Mini or Featherweight. Add $15 for a shaft in Cherry, Walnut, Cochin Rosewood, Tulipwood, Bocote or Bloodwood. Due to the variations in wood density, most of these whorls will be balanced with a fine brass pin placed in the underside of the whorl.

Shipping costs will be added on our end. We ship around the world — please ask about delivery to your corner of the fiber universe. US Packages are sent via USPS Priority Mail; shipping for a 1-pound package is $5.30-6.70, depending on postal zone; $5.20 when a USPS Flat Rate envelope or small box is appropriate.
International spindle orders are sent by USPS 1st Class International beginning at $5.50 to Canada for a 12 oz package; $10.50 to Europe, Asia and Australia. A shipping estimate is always included with confirmation of your order.
