NOTE:   We will gladly trim that to the shorter 7 1/2" length if you'd like.

Weight range: 14-28 g/.5-1 oz, depending on the wood.


These mini-tornados are perfect for small projects and spinning on the go — put your Mini and fiber in a zip-lock bag, and off you go! Wood availability changes frequently, so ask what is in stock when you order.

Premium Mini woods include Afezelia, Amboyna, Ambrosia Maple, Buckeye Burl, Boxwood, Cocobolo, Ebonies, Olivewood, Osage Orange, Pink Ivory, Rosewoods, Silver Wattle, Sumac, Thuya, Tulipwood and occasional burl woods in limited supply; not all woods available at all times. Colors may vary by monitor; different boards have varying color intensities and grain.

These Standard Mini™ spindles listed below are finished with short 7 1/2" Birch shafts, ready to test and send. Some whorls are pin-balanced for superb spin.

Our standard shaft length is now 9".  We will trim a 9" shaft to 7 1/2" on request. 
Trimming the longer shaft will take off about 1 gram.

Shaft Options: Hand-turned hardwood shaft, $15, in Bloodwood, Bocote, Cherry, Cochin Rosewood, Kingwood, Morado, Tulipwood, or Walnut; $20 in Ebony when available. We do our best to finish these as quickly as possible; please allow at least 2 weeks waiting time once we have a whorl ready to finish.

Shipping costs will be added on our end; Priority Mail begins at $5.20/1 pound package within the US; we'll estimate shipping for on International orders.  We will confirm the final costs prior to requesting payment.

Premium Minis™: On occasion, we use limited-availability woods as they strike Jonathan's fancy. Finished Premium Minis™ are $60 each for a standard Birch shaft; $75-80 with a hand-turned shaft. We're happy to suggest a wood to complement or contrast with the whorl of your choice.  Most Premium Minis™ are finished on a by-request basis, so we do not often have finished Premium spindles available.  We are working through our WishList (sadly, now closed).  When available, occasional Premium spindles are announced on the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Shipping costs will be added on our endWe ship around the world — please ask about delivery to your corner of the fiber universe. US Packages are sent via USPS Priority Mail; shipping for a 1-pound package is $5.40-6.70, depending on postal zone.

International packages are sent by USPS 1st Class International (Charkhas & Journey Wheels sent by Priority or Express Mail with insurance), $5.40 to Canada for a 11 oz package; $10.50 to Europe, Asia and Australia.  A shipping estimate is always included with confirmation of your order.
