Jonathan hand turns these spindles in a variety of native and exotic hardwoods. Sheila favors the lighterweight woods like Canarywood and Red Cedar for fine yarns. Purpleheart and Tulipwood are popular with many spindlers, and we have many more to choose from. We also offer spindle whorls turned from such rare and exotic woods as Rosewoods, Black and White Ebony, Black Palm or Karelian Birch, in limited production. Our selection varies as woods are available to us, which means not all woods are in stock at all times. Let us know if you are looking for a particular wood — we'll add you to our Spindle Wish List.
